It's our favorite time of year here at K&E! We love late summer nights spent in the backyard relaxing with family and a few s'mores. If your yard could use a little work (and don't worry we've all been there), summer is the perfect time to fix it up! Here's a few quick DIY tips to spruce up your backyard. (Wanting to go a little bigger? Check out some of our outdoor living ideas and give us a call!)
- Refinish your deck! If your deck is worn and weathered, a simple refinishing is a quick fix! Sand off the top layer until deck is fresh and smooth, apply a few coats of stain, or some sealant and paint and Viola! It's like new!
Add a fire pit! There's no better way to spend a summer night than huddled around a fire. Most home improvement stores have fire pits available, or you can do a quick one yourself by stacking paver stones. (Consider adding the second outer layer if you've got little ones around, it will keep them from getting too close!)
Black Metal Stone
Add some new seating! A few fresh pieces may be all you need to give your backyard a quick facelift. Adding pillows and cushions is a great way to add some color to you yard as well. To build this Brick and Board seating simply stack 6 cinder blocks on each side and put 4 planks between them, add another block for the back with 2 more planks and for the finishing touch add a few cushions for comfort!
We hope you have a safe summer, filled with fun memories with the ones you love!
